What We Do
In September 2007 ENOUGH officially opened. Since then the range of activities that we have been involved in has been quite wide. Our target is to broaden the horizons for the young people of Hartcliffe and Withywood in year 6 and older.
We use our home for the youth clubs that we run as we feel this provides a dramatically different atmosphere to a large hall etc. So, for 4 evenings a week our home is in use for the following clubs:
- Girls Group Mondays 6.30-7.30pm aimed at year 6 to year 9. Ran by female volunteers, a place for girls to be girly! Time includes mentoring, activities and fun.
- Homework club Tuesday 5-7pm aimed at year 6 to GCSE level. Ran by qualified teachers, here to be a helping hand.
- Cake and Games Wednesday 4.30-6.30pm aimed at year 6 upwards. An informal youth club with board games, electronic games and computers.
- Youth Lighthouse Thursday 6-8pm aimed at 15years + A meal followed by someone sharing their life story with a chance for questions and discussion.
We love getting to know the young people who come along to ENOUGH in all capacities. We try to support them in their parenting, be an advocate for the young person within the family situation and be an unbiased voice to help families work together. We do this through parent days, socials and contacting the parents.
Up and coming:
October-December: Mad Science Club for parents and young people in years 6, 7 & 8... Parents and kids come along together! Do you want to get your hands dirty doing some fun science experiments? Come along and find out what your kids do in Science whilst getting stuck in yourself!
January: Kids driving you crazy? Come and join us at 404 for an informal Positive Parenting Programme... a chance for you to talk to other parents over coffee and cakes about exactly what is driving you crazy and also to get some tips on what you can do to de-stress, improve your mood and gain control over difficult situations.
Other work includes:
- Local primary and secondary schools providing mentoring, curriculum enhancements and support packages, lunch-time clubs and other activities.
- Family support.
- Helping to minimise ASB within the locality through multi-agency working.
- Being a positive resource for the community. We try to resource projects and groups with volunteers and ideas where we can.
- BUZZ, extended schools partnership
- and many other things.
